Mom's Home....Being Brave for her!

Hi Everydoggy,

I don't think I mentioned that our mom has not been home this weekend. I've been dictating the blog entries to dad....he can be frustrating to deal with since he does not speak wooo as well as mom does. Mom was at the National Autism Conference in State College, PA this week. She told me that is where Penn State University is located. She works in the behavioral health field and works mainly with autistic spectrum clients. She told me she learned a lot but really missed us and was ready to come home. One good thing I did this week was to persuade dad to buy me a new laptop for blogging anywhere in the house...(yes, sneaky, very sneaky).

So amidst all the excitement of mom coming home we all got to go for a car ride....yes I mean everyone, mom, dad, little biped, Sky, Canyon and me. We were so excited...and then we pulled into the V-E-T office. Hmmmm.....I think mom should have stayed away a little longer.

Dr. Horst told us it was time for our annual check-ups. We really do like our doctor. e talks to us like we are there and not just another dollar sign. He takes the time to make sure we are comfortable. Canyon is wary of new people so Dr. Horst started his exam at his back legs and worked forward....very smart. Everything was a-ok for all of us except Dr. Horst is concerned about a small lump I have on my tummy. He said it is on a mammary gland and should be taken out. He also said there is a 50% chance it could be benign or a 50% chance it could be malignant. Mom and Dad decided I need to have surgery ASAP. I am scheduled to go in on August 20th to have it removed. I'm a little worried but I am trying to stay strong for mom and dad. I am hoping I will have recovered enough to still be at the Hike N' Howl but if I can't make it I will send Canyon in my place.

Good thing we found out is that Canyon gained 40lbs. since last year (remember he was just a puppy) so now he weighs more than me!

Wooo wooo, Kelsey Ann

PS: My mom is a graduate of that Penn State thing. Why on EARTH would she go to a university with a CAT for a mascot?? Bipeds make no sense to me sometimes!

Kelsey: I know you said you uploaded the Good Search engine to your side bar, but I can't see it! What am I doing wrong? That's how it was when I uploaded to ours, too!

Kelsey, we are praying that all of the bad lumps and bumps go away and never return. Woo.

Woo Kelsey Ann! We're very concerned about your bump and hope it's just something stupid and not something serious. We're sending as many Sibe Vibes as we can muster.

Kelsey Ann we hope that the lump turns out to be fine. We'll be thinking of you. Although that is awfully nice of you to send Canyon in your place for the Hike n Howl, hopefully you'll still be able to go! We're wooing for you! (maybe you could BOTH go. :) ).

Your Mom's conference sounds very good. My Mom used to work with kids and she loved it. She was able to work with some kids that were dx with Autism or Aspergers. Very lovable children. I asked if why she is working with the elderly if she loves kids so much? She said it's because she loves BOTH populations and this is where she has landed so far.

Have a great week!
