Treat Test Tuesday and Tribute to 9-11-01

Hi Everydoggy,

Thank you for all of your concern for my eye. It's looking good with no additional problems. I just wanted to let all of you know that this is the first squabble over food that Canyon and I have had. One or two times before there was a little yelling but that was all. Mom and Dad have experience with having foster dogs in the house and "rules" of feeding and would take necessary precautions if they saw fit. I just had a lapse in judgement on how dinnertime happens here.

Anywoo, I wanted to tell all of you about the new yummy treats mom bought for us yesterday. Mom had to stop at Pet Supplies Plus yesterday to buy Sky and Canyon a new bag of doggy food. They go through a 40lb. bag of Canidae every month. Well, mom found these really yummy treats on sale and just had to get them for us!!!!

The first treats we tried are By Nature dog treats made by Blue Seal. There are 5 flavors and mom was nice enough to get us all of them.. All of these treats are wheat-free (except the Canine whites) and corn-free. They each have their own special features:

Spiced Molasses: Glucosamine and Chondroitin

Mixed Berry: Antioxidants

Canine Whites: cleans teeth and freshens breath

Green Tea and Honey: antioxidant and with flaxseed for healthy skin and coat

Fruit and Nut: for energy

The other treats she bought were Nutro Natural Choice Crunchy Treats. These are both wheat-free and corn-free. There are 2 flavors: real berries with blueberries, cranberries, and cherries, and real apple. Mom says they smell almost good enough for bipeds to eat but we couldn't convince her to try some.

The last treats she bought were "special ones" for the annoying one (Canyon) to help him with his anxiety around unfamiliar people and places. She thought he could try having some of these treats the next time he attends a MaPaw Meet and Greet. They are Sniffers 101: All Natural Training Bits. They have chamomile, lavender and lemon in them to help "calm and focus" your dog or puppy. The best part is they have real liver in them!!!! These are wheat-free too!

We give all these treats 12 paws up!!!!! Mom wanted all of you to know these treats are all made in the USA!!!!

On this day, September 11th, we remember all of those who are fighting this war against terror and take a moment of silence to honor those who lost their lives on this fateful day in 2001. See Stormy's tribute to 9-11-01.

Wow, your mom sure bought you a LOT of treats! I like that they are wheat and corn free. With the allergy issues we have here, I think I will have my human check out that website!

My eyes are all leaky after watching that video. It is soooo sad to see. We must NEVER forget what happened, and the lives that were lost. Such a tragedy. Thank you for posting it.

Pleased you are looking much better.

What an awful lot of treats, they look very yummy.

We haven't watched the vid as mistress doesn't want to get red eyes.

Excellent tribute, Kelsey - thank you for sharing that video of canine heroes! Thanks for the link to my post, too!
Glad your eye is healing - wow, that must have been SCARY! Canyon is probably entering the "test" stage, where he's trying to see if he can unseat you as Queen - don't you think? He'll get the idea that's NOT going to happen!
Mmm... cookies! We haven't tried any of those - our bipeds need to get more creative next time they hit PetsMart! Hope you guys enjoy them!
Tail wags,
Stormy

Hi Guys
Those treats look yummy!
We here in Canada thought about all you USA doggie cousins on the 9/11 anniversary. A terrible, sad day but proof that nothing gets the USA down for long!
God bless America.

Oh YUM! We love the By Nature treats. Mom gets them at our favorite treat store frequently. We also love your Mom's Banananana Biscotti! As soon as we hear the bag rattle we come running!

Those treats look really good. We will have to try those. I see Echo mentioned that your mom makes a banana treat. Is it in the MaPaw cookbook? If so, I'm going to tell my mom to make me some.

Wow, you guys hit the mother load of treats! Please do report on the sniffers 101 treats and let us know if they work for Cayon's anxiety. Maybe they will work for Shiloh too.

Treat HEAVEN!!! Y'all are so lucky! We convinced mom that since they're making all our meals homemade now that they should do no less with our treats, so she ordered the recipe book from HTHNBR, we can't wait for it to get here!
Your video made our mom cry, again. She's been crying off & on nonstop for 2 whole days. We always remember 9-11, but mom had a great friend who always took that day off of work so he could remember and mourn in private. Sadly he passed away of a heart attack at 4AM on 9-11 this year. We hope she'll stop crying one of these days....she says she didn't think that date could get any worse, but now it has. God bless our troops, 9-11 heros (2 & 4-legs), and mom's friend, Mark.
Sad manykisses,
Bama & the RHP

I'm SO GLAD your eye is better! Brothers and sisters have little spats sometimes. My mom said she and my uncle Joey used to have them when they were growing up and sometimes one or both of them would end up with a bruise or scratch. I'm glad it was nothing serious!
