Starting to feel better

Just came in from our last potty break before bed. Dad snapped this picture when we got in. Can you see the snow on my back?

Now of course, it's pretty obvious that there is definitely one thing going on and that's new snow. Wonder how deep it will get... But there's something else this snow on my back shows.

You need to know a few things about our house to understand this: 1) the picture was taken on the main level of the house; 2) we live in a ranch with a partially finished walkout basement; 3) the stairs out of the basement to the yard are on the west end of the house and the stairs from the basement to the main level are on the east end. So, I had to come go all the way from one end of the house to the other (about 60 feet) and up a flight of stairs. I moved faster tonight that I have in ages making this journey. I think the Rimadyl is helping.

We'll give it some time to see how well it does. Dr. Horst wants my dose cut in half after a week, and then maybe cut in half again so that I can be on the lowest dose possible. As long as it continues to work, I'm happy to keep taking it. One other added benefit... Canyon is more jealous now at meal time than ever before. Sky gets his zinc supplement, I get my joint supplement, I get PPA pills dipped in peanut butter, and now I get liver-flavored pain pills. Poor Canyon gets no treat-flavored medicine and he thinks he's missing out. ROTFL...

Hey that's some good news about you starting to feel better. I am so pleased for you. Paws crossed you continue to feel better and get the meds cut down.

Poor Canyon deprived of meds though;

I'm glad your medicine is helping K.A. It's no fun feeling creaky. Taking pills ain't so bad...especially if they taste like Liver!

We're so glad you're feeling a bit perkier! Now you just need some Siberian Hearing Aids. It snowed here too but it looks like it's stopping. That doesn't make us happy!

Kelsey Ann,

Welcome to my senior life of better living through chemistry (aka Rimadyl). I'm so glad you are having some good early signs. I hope it keeps making a difference for you. Isn't fun making the others jealous?

We're glad you're feeling better. Maybe Canyon could get a small dip of peanut butter? Samaritan had to take some terrible tasting medicine for several months and she didn't want him to turn against peanut butter, so she bought cans of mackeral or salmon and gave Samaritan a little bit with his pill. And she gave the rest of us a taste so we weren't jealous. (We were still jealous because she gave us a "taste" big enough for a tadpole.)

K.A., I hope the Rimadyl helps a lot! Don't let them give you too little!

There's a time to be stoic. But now isn't it.

Is your PPA big and not-tasty like Gremlin's? It's "chewable." But she isn't motivated to chew it.

So she gets it in p.b. too, or sliced turkey.

Four of us seniors here. (Five if you count the Human Assistant.)

We all take something. Even if it's just joint supplement.

Lucy and Sinjin don't act like they need it yet. But that one's yummy! I don't think Sinjin would let anydoggy else have one if he didn't get one!

Take care of yourself!
