Neglected

Tomorrow is the little biped's third birthday. Mom and Dad have been busy all evening with getting things ready.

Dad was in Mississippi all week. He left Monday morning very early and got home last night very late. Tonight after work, he had to mow the lawn since the birthday part will be held outside. The grass had gotten pretty high since last Friday because of rain early in the week and sunny days since then. Mom has been working on baking cakes all evening. She is doing a white cake that looks like Cinderella and a chocolate cake that looks like Cinderella's castle. Of course, we've gotten none of it.

We finally got Dad to take some time to feed us and take time away from kitchen guard duty. The little biped was up late and thought she should be able to get icing from the cakes so Dad was working on keeping the little biped occupied.

The Cinderella cake - completed! This one took Mom 3 to 4 hours to decorate; that doesn't include the prep and cooking time.

Cinderella's castle - Still in progress. So far, Mom has about 30 minutes of decorating in and anticipates another 30 minutes of work.

This is just a small sample of the mess in our kitchen.

Well, I need to stop clawing at Dad about this post because he has birthday presents to get out for the little biped to find in the living room when she wakes up tomorrow morning.

Kelsey Ann,

I sure hope Canyon isn't counter cruising! Although I would find these bowls a must have!

Your biped is going to be sooooooo excited with your Mom's hard work. With lots of kids around, there will be lots of droppings and handouts. You'll get to snarf all kinds of cool stuff.

Hope you have a great time convincing the bipeds to pass down the good stuff.

BooWoo... they didn't let you lick the bowl. More training needed for the humans.

What great cakes! You guys better watch it, though! What will they do to top this next year? And the year after that?

Pretty soon they'll be doing huge projects for the little one non-stop for months at a time!

Who's going to feed you???

I hope the little one has a fun day, though!
