Single Sunday - A Birthday Celebration

Today is a very special day. Since I was a stray in Lancaster County, PA before Maw and Pa rescued me and found my fur-ever home, no one is sure what my birthday really is. Mom and Dad decided that we would celebrate on June 1. Today for my 9th birthday, we are celebrating in the following manner...

1) Out of bed early (7am)
2) Pack a lunch
3) Bipeds leave and go to the
Philadelphia zoo to see tigers (Changbai, Koosaka and Terney) who are celebrating their first birthday, taking a hand-drawn card the little biped made
4) Fishing trip for the bipeds if there is time after the zoo visit.

Wait a minute!!! I'm not in these plans. This is how I used to celebrate my birthday.

A new toy!

Cake icing!

Yum!!

I guess, I just get to spend time alone on my throne today. Maybe they'll bring me something from the zoo. Those tigers are a kind of cat, aren't they? I bet it would be fun to play with one of them. I've played with cats before, but we'll talk about that on another Sunday.

KA, We are almost exactly and precisely the same age! My 9th birthday was yesterday. How cool is that? I didn't do anything special for my bday either. It poured rain here all day and I didn't get my extra special bday walk. Oh well. I suppose this is what happens when we get older. They just all take us for granted. Have a great day anyway!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Kelsey Ann!
That picture of you with the icing container is SO CUTE! Maybe your mom will let you do that again, once they get back from doing the things they're doing! And some CAKE to go with it!
I hope you have a very wonderful day! We're so glad MaPaw found you such a great home!
Love,
Ammy
PS: I think it's SO SWEET that the little biped made a card for the tigers!

Happy birthday! We hope your bipeds bring you a good present after they so rudely left you at home!

Ps. You have taught us that we don't want to have a little biped because we like to be the center of the universe. :-)

I can't believe you are being left out of the festivities! But, I guess a day alone, just relaxing, is always a great day!!

Cake icing, yum, and home alone, that's kinda nice, not having to share your special day with interlopers. Claw them when they get home.

Oh KA I am sending you lots of virtual birthday wishes.

Anyway, I don't think you would have wanted to go to the zoo. I hope you had a lovely day and I think you are very gorgeous.

Do you think I could be called your toy dog?? (I am more than four and a half but I don't know how much more).

I hope they brought you lots of gifts and treats. But no tigers - they have very sharp claws.

The zoo without you? Hmmmm. I bet Mom was planning a surprise for you all along. I can't wait to find out what it was.

Of course there is something to be said for a quiet nap too.

Aw, Kelsey Ann, We missed your birthday! We're sorry.

And you just reminded us we need to post about a personal birthday we should have posted on the same day as yours. We're going to get it ready for tomorrow.

Glad you had a good day.

My Hu-Mom calls it "Happy Gotcha Day".

I am also a rescue (Southern Siberian Rescue) and don't know my real birthday. So Hu-Mom celebrates the day she came and got me! Hence "gotcha day"

Sending you *flying tackle hugs* on your birthday.
