Single Sunday - My Dad

Hey Everydoggy!

Yeah, I know last Sunday was Father's Day and I did a whole post on my dad and his dogs that came before me. But, this week I realized just how special my dad really is and how much he cares about me and my furry Siberian friends.

You see, Mom and the little biped drove Dad to pick-up a rental car this morning. After that they all had breakfast and then Dad was on his way. To where?, you ask....my dad started on a 19 hour drive to Mississippi. He is going to stay in Chattanooga, Tennessee tonight and then get up bright and early to finish his drive to Jackson, Mississippi.

Going to Mississippi is not the special part since dad goes there every other week for work, but, you see, my dad normally takes an airplane to MS. It's much faster. This time dad needed to drive because when he leaves Mississippi he is picking up very special cargo. Dad is meeting a volunteer from the shelter that has Biloxi. They are meeting in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on Wednesday evening and dad will transport Biloxi the rest of the way home to us to foster him for MaPaw and for him to get the expert medicalcare he needs.

So, all total, dad will spend about 38 hours driving! That's almost a whole week's worth of worktime. Some might say my dad is crazy for going to that much work for one dog, but others would say the dog needs our help and we'll do whatever we can to help. How could we not help him? Dad is going to spend do most of his driving with Biloxi on Thursday. And guess what??? Thursday is Dad's birthday. What better birthday present than to know you rescued a pup from a not-so-bright future!

Here are some pics of me and my dad...

This first one is me having some snuggle time with dad. (mom says to ignore the earrings on dad, he doesn't wear them anymore)

This picture was taken in a northeastern Pennslvania state park. Dad and I were taking a rest. We are at the top of a mountain and ahead of us is a lookout over the valley. We saw people hang-gliding from off the top of the mountain. This was a little sidetrips we took while staying at Pop's (dad's dad) hunting cabin for the weekend. I'll tell you more about our cabin trips some other Sunday.

Please wish my dad safe travels and mom will help me keep you updated on Dad's progress on Wednesday and Thursday.

Woo woo, Kelsey Ann

OOOH, good luck to your dad on his trip and picking up the gimpy pup.

Can you call your dad and ask him to pick up some elephant tusks for me, because I hear that in Alabama the tuskaloosa.

there is something very special in sweet Biloxi's pictures that tells me all this work will be worth it in the end.

Flying slam tackle hugs to your Dad for helping Biloxi out. He must have the heart of a Siberian Husky. Keep us update on his progress.

Hey Kelsey Ann,

We LOVE your Dad in all his craziness. We're sending happy and safe vibes down the highway to and from Alabama.

Keep us posted, but be warned. I came to Mom for a three day foster, and due to medical conditions have remained here. A great foster failure in my opinion.
