Remember we are supporting MaPaw Siberian Husky Rescue. The other day we talked about Van and his chemotherapy. Today we'd like you to meet Callie and Sage. If you remember Canyon took a liking to Callie last year at the Green Lane Scottish-Irish Festival.
Callie is a two-year-old who is special in many ways. She is epileptic and suffers from cluster (multiple) seizures. The other dogs tend to pick on her. She has poor motor skills and falls a lot, but she is happily unaware of her limitations.

Sage is four years old and would be voted Miss Congeniality. All doggies love Sage and she is the first to start a game of chase or tag. She is smart and athletic and always on her toes. These two very different dogs have developed an intricate bond and are inseperable. A silly, sweet, handicapped girl and a savvy popular girl sharing an incredible closeness.

Callie has had seizures since she was eight weeks old that are severe in nature. MaPaw welcomed her into the Husky Hospice program and soon knew she would be a permanent resident due to her mental and physical limitations. Other than her epilepsy, she is a healthy girl, and most importantly, a happy one.

Sage is always near Callie, looking out for her, playing with her and getting the others to join in. If Callie is called and she doesn't understand herds her to her foster mom and dad. If Callie is being picked on, Sage comes to her rescue. "God help the mister who messes with my sister"

If the two girls are placed apart, they will cry until reunited. Most often, when one sleeps the other is nearby, usually touching. They share toys, bones, beds, and human laps.

Both girls are special in their own way. Callie trusts and depends on Sage. Sage protects and mothers Callie. Both have endeared themselves to their foster mom and dad, who have officially adopted Sage so "the girls" can remain together. Callie will continue to be loved and care for in MaPaw's Husky Hospice program with Sage by her side.

Go ahead and click the button on the left and email us to pledge to help Callie and many other doggies in MaPaw's care!

Kisses, Sky boy

Great job getting everyone to donate to such an awesome group. I love the story of the girls. Thank goodness for such a loving foster home too.

I'm partial to our special needs gal, Lola. Mom took some cool shots of us together just today.

Happy Tails to You.
