Early Dinner

Normally, we get our dinner after the little biped goes to bed.  Bedtime routine typically starts at 8.  She gets into her jammies, reads a book or two, brushes her teeth, goes potty, says prayers, gets kisses and hugs from Mom and Dad, and puppy slurps from us.  Finally, lights out and in bed.  This typically takes 20-25 minutes.  Dinner comes after this all over around 8:30.

Last night, her bedtime was before 7 because she made a very bad choice. I was laying on the floor with a stuffy trying to figure out how it was making so many interesting squeekie sounds when I chewed it.  The little biped came over to me, grabbed my head, and bit my ear!!  I cried.  I'm just little and it hurt a lot.

Dad immediately took her to bed.  No books were read and several stuffed Siberians she has in her bed were taken away.  She's never done this to me before, but apparently she's done it to King Sky a time or two.  Mom and Dad are working very hard to address this bad behavior with her and teach her that it's not OK to bite doggies' ears.  Fortunately, Sky and I were very well behaved and didn't bite back.  They think she may have learned it watching  Snow Dogs with Cuba Gooding, Jr.  Anyway, this resulted in dinner time early last night.

Tonight, dinner came before the little biped went to bed.  We got dinner at 7 again tonight.  I was told it was because I have to go get "fixed" tomorrow.  The doggy doctor says no food after 8 and no water after 12.  I didn't know I was broken.  The only thing Mom and Dad have said is wrong with me is getting up in the middle of the night to beg for water and trips outside.
Last night, between me begging, me banging on the door, Canyon's crying because I was keeping  him up, and the little biped having a coughing fit, Mom and Dad had been woke up every 10-15 minutes for over an hour.  Mom eventually left us and went to the couch, leaving Dad in the bedroom to take care of us.  We settled down shortly after Mom left.  LOL, sorry for the mean trick Mom, but after you left there was plenty of room in bed for Meadow, Canyon and I.

Well, wish me luck with whatever this "getting fixed" thing is.  I'm really not too sure if this is good or bad, but whatever it is - it's definitely a new experience.  New experiences are all part of being a puppy I guess...

We hope you get fixed properly the first time. Do you think they'll use super glue or duct tape?

Fixing is great. We have all been fixed, we means we are perfect now, right? Plus you can milk it for lots of sympathy.

Good reaction to the ear bite. Little bi-peds are like little pups - they sometimes play too hard and have to be taught how to play properly. The adult bi-peds are handling that teaching well.

If a little one bit my ear, I would just growl and get big, by making my fur stand up, I am good at that. Mom used to take me to hospitals as a therapy dog. The seniors I liked better, they didn't pull my fur! I am glad I don't have minature people at my house.
Good luck with the fixed thingy, I think Mom said I was fixed too, I didn't know I was broke either!

This is a great trick to kick mom out of the bed. I'm going to have to try it soon. I hope that your fixing goes well. Apparently I'm getting fixed today, too.

You'll get all kinds of good things for being fixed, don't worry.

VERY good for you to let the little biped bite your ear. I'm sure you earned huge brownie points for that!

Is your ear OK? I'm sure she didn't mean to hurt you!
Except for no zoomies for a little while, that getting fixed thing is no big deal. We'll send good thoughts your way!

PS: Did you know we aren't listed in your friends? :(

I'm sure the little biped didn't really mean to hurt you. Maybe she just found your ear to be tasty. Good luck with your surgery!

Ya just never know what those little bipeds will do. When I was a puppy I bit mine on his nose a time or two to correct his bad behavior. He's grown into being a fine young man.
Never have figured out what breaks on us that needs fixed, but almost all of us go thru it. You'll get lots of extra cuddling!

Oh noes Brook!!

Your poor ear! You did real good not biting the biped back.

We will be praying that you come through your "fix" procedure with no problems at all. You really didn't look broken to us either.

Lots of Luv & Kisses

You're such a good boy for not biting her ear in return! You really should get extra cookies for that. Maybe you could offer her one of your Nylabones to chew on. Good luck at the vet tomorrow. Shadow has to go for her spa treatment and liposuction next Wednesday.

Your new header looks fantastic!!

I'm so glad you didn't bite the little biped back. Someone in the family has to have some manners, right? It sounds like with your mom and dad on the job, she'll be behaving properly in no time.

Oh, and part of behaving properly, in my opinion, is feeding lots of treats to puppies.

Rut roh!! Poor biped, but definitely not a safe thing to do! You were a very good puppy by not biting back!

Why is it all these humans think we are broken when we are little? Mine thought I was broken too and had to do that "fixed" thing. I did fine after it, but they had a hard time keeping me calm! Duh! SIBE PUPPY!!

I'm not sure about the fixin' stuff...but I'm sure the little biped didn't mean anything bad. I've bitten CoCo on the ear and it tasted quite good. Kinda like chicken.

Hopes no one bites my ears. Dat would hurt! Maw bit Ivanna's ears causin Ivanna had her teeth in one of her older sibe-lings and wouldn't let go no matter what Maw did to her. Sooooo Maw bit her ear and she let go. It does work sometimes. So far Ivanna doesn't do dat anymore.

Hope your earsies are okay.
