Heavy Heart

Kapp Pack Mom here:

It is with a very heavy heart that we had to let Kelsey Ann go today. She has been battling doggy dementia and this morning we found her stuck between the wall and couch. When my husband got her out she was unable to stand. Before I left for work she briefly tried to stand but was unable. I carried her back to her bed before I left. When I came home at noon she had gotten herself stuck partway under our dresser. I again carried her to her bed. When I came home at 3:45 she had scooted off of her bed but still could not stand.

We took her into the vet and she was very hypotensive. He ran some blood work and that was fine. But it was very apparent she was VERY, VERY sick. It was apparent that she likely had a stroke since she did not have function of the limbs on one side. We could have pushed fluids, done x-rays but that would maybe only have bought ourselves a day, week who knows. This was not anything that was going to miraculously improve. It was in her best interest that we let her go.

May she be running North of the Bridge wearing her silver harness wooing at everyone she meets!

Rest in Peace my Dear Sweet Pretty Girl!

This picture we took just last night for the MaPaw newsletter. I will forever cherish this photo..

Thank you to MaPaw for letting us adopt our pretty girl and to all the SMS members for your love and support . We gave her the best life we could and we will NEVER forget her. She taught us how to love the husky breed and we will never forget that. She will live on in all our hearts.

What a precious thing Kelsey Ann has given you--

Gosh I hope no one looks in the cube right now. She was such a character--what a love!!!!

Am SO glad you got that picture, to remember her by--she is smiling--SHE KNOWS SHE WAS LOVED!

I just can't stop crying, dammit--

Awwww woooo, we are so sorry to hear about Kelsey Ann. We were so worried when we read about her symptoms, it was almost identical to what happened to our Sheena in March. Mom is so sad about KA.... she knows how hard it is to lose a great friend.

KA - hope you can meet up with our Sheena-Roo and her brother Rex-topher and have a great time making trouble north of the Rainbow Bridge in your silver harnesses! You'd like them!

Kelsey Ann is a beautiful angel. She is loved.
The Last Battle
If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then will you do what must be done,
For this – the last battle – can’t be won.
You will be sad I understand,
But don’t let grief then stay your hand,
For on this day, more than the rest,
Your love and friendship must stand the test.
We have had so many happy years,
You wouldn’t want me to suffer so.
When the time comes, please, let me go.
Take me to where to my needs they’ll tend,
Only, stay with me ‘til the end
And hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will agree
It is a kindness you do to me.
Although my tail its’ last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.
Don’t grieve that it must be you
Who has to decide this thing to do;
We’ve been so close – we two – these years,
Don’t let your heart hold any tears. - Anonymous

oh even though it is five long months since we left the blog world, the dog blog world, we still keep our paw on the pulse.

We called into Pippa's blog today to catch up with the news and we were so saddened by this terrible news.

Kelsey Ann was one of our favourites when we were blogging, and we have shed a few tears tonight to find out what has happened.

So, so sorry.

But, she is over The Rainbow Bridge, and the sun is on her back and love is in her heart.

We will all meet over there one day, take comfort from that, free from pain, distress and sickness.

The sun will shine again, Kelsey Ann will shine too.

Such sad news, please accept our condolences.

Marvin and Jeannie from the UK.

Hi dear friends,

We found out just now that Kelsey Ann has gone to the bridge. We will miss her a lot. She was so pretty. The Mommy said that she bets her Samantha welcomed Kelsey Ann to the bridge and gathered up all the DWB doggies that we lost to soon and they are all happy and running around talking & laughing about all of us still down here. What a group they must be, so you see Kelsey Ann is in good hands. Samantha was 14 1/2 when she died, so she I am sure is running the show up there with Kelsey Ann at her side.

Our thoughts & prayers are with all of you.

Love and God bless you all...Mona
