Trivia #4

Hey Everydoggy,

We did a drawing to give away the Mapaw Cookbook. Sorry the video is sideways. Us dogs will have to help Mom get her butt in gear and remind her to hold the camera the right way next time...

Congratulations to Eva and Brice! For those who didn't win the cookbook, don't forget you can buy one from Mapaw. Click here to get it for only $18.00 plus $4.95 S&H.

Since it's dinner time, we're also giving away the apron.

We wanted this to be a trivia contest, so Dad found some cooking trivia on an encyclopedic website (not wikipedia) that relates to raw vegetables. We thought this was a great question since the humans are having gazpacho for dinner. So here's the question:

What raw vegetable has the least nutritional value?

A) Tomato
B) Cucumber
C) Spinach
D) Iceberg Lettuce

First right answer from someone who made a donation wins the apron. Good luck!

Dinner time!

Well, I guess it's time to start thinking about dinner for the humans. Here's what we are feeding them tonight. Burgers, Corn-on-the-cob and our special Gazpacho soup made with Grandma's recipe. I helped mom make this earlier today and it should be just about cold enough.

Here are all the ingredients...
2 cucumbers, peeled 1 green pepper
2 tsp. green chilies
2 T. fresh cilantro
1/2 tsp. salt

1/4 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. dill weed
16 oz can diced tomatoes
2 Cups V-8 juice
1/2 crushed garlic
1-2 bunches of green onions
1 T. worchestershire sause
1 T. red wine vinegar

Put everything into the food processor (or blender) and mix together

Stir in hot sauce to your liking when it's all mixed up (This is Biloxi's favorite ingredient)

Here's your finished product....chill for 4 or more hours and serve cold

This recipe and 500+ more (human, dog, and cat food) can be found in MaPaw's cookbook. For the next post we will be doing a drawing for a MaPaw cookbook, and a trivia question to win the apron we previously posted about.

Kelsey Ann here with the results of the last trivia contest. Domino got the correct answer by knowing that

He also won the 2007 Iditarod, and has won the Yukon Quest every year since 2005 and was nominated for an Espy award in the category of Best Outdoor Athlete this year (the winner was Scott Smiley, a blind Iraq vet who climbs mountains). Congratulations to both Domino and Lance Mackey.

Some Pictures of the Humans' Trip to the Windy City

Hey Everydoggy,

As you know, I've been diagnosed with doggy Alzheimers. I forgot I was supposed to post more about the humans' trip to Chicago, so Sky jumped in and helped me out with his post on the V-E-T trip. They flew to O'Hare on Friday. They spent the day in downtown Chicago doing some shopping. On Saturday, there was supposed to be a trip to Lincoln Park Zoo with the humans' friends from when Dad lived there in 1999-2000; however, rain forced them to spend the day at the Children's Museum. Sunday they went to Lincoln Park Zoo; and on Monday they flew home. Mom and Dad were very impressed with upgrades the zoo has made recently. Here's pictures of the animals.

The lion - king of the jungle

A polar bear - aren't they a Northern animal too?

A gorilla ignoring all the people looking at him

A beaver - you don't normally see these guys at the zoo

My Mom and Meeshka's Mom recently had a discussion about how outdated some of the Lincoln Park Zoo's enclosures were. Mom took these pictures at the large primate exhibit to show Meeshka's Mom how much work has been done at the Lincoln Park Zoo.
