Get your Bipeds in Shape!

Hey Pups!

I've got a challenge for all my furfriends. It's time to get our humans off their lazy butts and get them moving. I was told about a great program called Idita-Walk by Sir Jack of Coastal New England.

This from the Idita-Walk 2009 Website: "Welcome to the Idita-walk 2009 homepage! An event to promote physical fitness in the spirit of the Iditarod Sled Dog Race. The Iditarod Sled dog race is 1049 miles long from Anchorage to Nome, Alaska. To complete the Idita-walk, walk 30 minutes a day for 35 days between February 1, 2009 to March 31, 2009 for a total of 1049 minutes."

I've gotten my mom to sign-up as a member of Team Sibermal. We usually never get to go for walks so hopefully this will change our humans sedentary behavior. Both the human bipeds could stand to lose a few pounds. I think that they think they're going into hibernation and need to build up thier body fat.

I'll whip them into shape!

As King I proclaim you all to go and register your humans to get fit! It only costs $10 and proceeds benefit Camp Bronson maintenance, scholarships, and numerous youth related programs.

I wonder if I sign us up, Momma will do her part since having us running around the back yard doesn't count.

Hey this is great.

John is a bit of a fat butt right now so HE could definately use it. But I don't want to have him lose too much because then his tummy wont be nearly as cumfy for cuddlin.

We've got to get our mom to register us. She's bad about things keeping track of stuff though. I need to go bark at her.

Yuh, Momma and Pee-Wee have that totally covered. I don't know how they survive with all that walking. The Mango will take a pass, though, since I am not fond of what you call "sustained activity."

Master and I do that every day, Misery only does it when she walks to the shops and back. Hmm, we will have a chat about it.

Can we do this "virtually" 'cos my Jeannie and I walk at least four miles per day, so we are well healthy and fit.

Well I am anyways!!!!!

sorry it is taking some time since our sudden departure from the blogs to catch up with all the links!

We think this is a siberrific idea! Can we do this from New Zealand? We normally go out for walks 3-4 times a week.....maybe this would mean we could all get an extra walk or two in!

We're signed up. Well, our mom is. And you know how moms are. They can't walk without a Siberian.

I should really discuss this with Mom. She walks the track at Logan's barn but hasn't since it's been so cold. She said she's building up her energy for this spring. That doesn't sound right to me.
