The Humans' Busy Weekend

Mom's step-brother and his family came to visit from Austin, Texas on Friday night. They're staying with Dama and Paw-Paw until Wednesday. Uncle and his son were here to visit shortly after the little biped was born (about 2 1/2 years ago), but Aunt and the daughters haven't been here for 5 years.

Yesterday, the humans went to Dama and Paw-Paw's house in the morning so that the little biped could play with her cousins. They had lunch there and came home. We thought we were going to have some time to spend with the humans, but instead they put on outside-clothes (they don't listen when I try to tell them to grow fur coats). They got in the car and left again after taking us outside for a few minutes. They went to Hersheypark's Christmas Candy Lane. The little biped got to go on lots of rides with her cousins. She even got to ride on a little ladybug roller coaster. The unfortunate result of a Hersheypark visit is lots of treats get brought home, but they are not the doggy-friendly kind.

Today, they were here all morning and took down the upstairs Christmas tree. This afternoon, they went back to Dama and Paw-Paw's for a birthday pawty. Today is the 29th+? birthday of Mom's cousin's wife. Mom and Dad said all the adults got headaches because there were 8 children (6 of them under 10 years old) at Dama and Paw-Paw's.

Tomorrow will be a busy day too. Mom has the day off, but Dad's company isn't closed. He may stay home depending on the weather (there is a wintry mix coming down now). Plans include going to see the New Year's bologna (makes me drool just thinking about it), made by the company that paw-paw works for and used to own, in the morning since the little biped and her cousins won't be able to stay up late enough to see it dropped. Later in the evening, Mom and Dad will host their traditional, quiet, New Year's Eve game-night. My human friend, Megan, and her husband will be coming over after the little biped goes to bed. Megan is the nice one who comes and takes care of us sometimes when the bipeds abandon us for "nicer" places.
Oh, I almost forgot, the relatives from the Lonestar state will be coming to visit ME tomorrow. I will have to rub it in to Uncle that Penn State beat Texas A&M Saturday. But, mom tells me he is probably happy about it anyway since he is a professor at the University of Texas and Penn State was his second choice for graduate school.
In the meantime, the three of us will be working on our New Year's resolutions....

Okay, you live in a really cool place. They drop MEAT instead of a stupid ball of lights. That is just too cool.

Aww... you were cheering against A&M? Dad and I were really sad that they lost. Mom and Kat are getting ready to cheer for OSU (Oklahoma State) tomorrow against somebody. I don't really understand all this bowl game stuff. To me, a bowl game is a game where I chase food around a bowl.
